As this hotel was unique in meeting our very stringent budget restrictions - for our first and very last minute trip to Barcelona - my expectations were modest. However on arrival late evening we were so warmly received by reception (sorry no name badges and I didnt take your name) And so very well taken care of the following day booking tickets for all our chosen tourist attractions - that it felt like a much high service level hotel. The (basic level) room we'd booked offered very comfortable bed, lovely hotel quality white bedding, fridge, safe, ample storage and an opening window - which to my surprise and delight next morning opened to a front seat view of La Bocquera entrance (approx 20 seconds walk) This hotel honestly could not be better located for tourists. Everything is within a very short walk - 3 main markets, Gothic quarter, Rambla and Liceu Metro on doorsrep, tourist buses, shopping and restaurants. Without a doubt this hotel will be our choice when we return. Which we will. Because Barcelona is fabulous!

The bed was comfortable and the shower had good pressure. Breakfast was average and a bit bland. The reception staff is pretty rude from the initial hello. The restaurant staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The location was really good, within walking distance to Las Ramblas and restaurants all around.

This is a perfect hotel to stay in if you'd like to be in the thick of the action in Barcelona city centre. This hotel is a short walk from La Rambla and its accompanying delights, including the fabulous Boqueria Market. My party of three senior-age siblings found the hotel room bright, clean and well-maintained and we absolutely enjoyed their breakfast spread. But what really impressed us during our four-day stay was the service, especially by the front desk staff Diego (who jokingly calls himself the "Bolivian Boy) and his manager Daniel. Diego was naturally friendly and always cheerful providing assistance, information and tips. We had approached him one late night for help in seeking physical assistance from the Barcelona Sants train for our brother who was still recovering from an illness he experienced before checking into the hotel. He researched and identified the office that could help us. The following morning, Daniel the manager -- busy as he was -- took time and made several phone calls for us to ensure that my brother would get the help he needed when he'd board the train for Madrid a day later. Not being Spanish speakers, we were not confident about our ability to navigate services and processes and Daniel understood this. This extra help made a huge difference in providing comfort and ease for our group and for this, we are grateful to both Diego and Daniel! They went out of their way made our stay at the hotel extra-memorable and they are a credit to the hotel as well as to Barcelona tourism in general! :)
